Course on Copying Short Phrases and Poetry in Calligraphy

This course focuses on writing short sentences, classical poetry, and literary excerpts, making it ideal for students ready to transition from practicing individual characters to writing complete texts. The instructor selects passages of appropriate length based on students’ writing proficiency, explaining character arrangement, line spacing, punctuation handling, and the writing sequence for entire paragraphs. The class includes stages such as text selection, observation of model characters, segmented practice, and full-scale copying; students may choose a suitable script style—such as Regular Script (Kaishu) or Semi-cursive Script (Xingshu)—based on their preferences.
